Finals

(Let me preface this entry by saying that for three days in a row I have been very sleep deprived, so my communicative faculties aren't exactly at their peak.)

So it turned out that everyone in my Digital Video Production II class loved my Manly Gaga video. They laughed the whole way through! My professor actually let me submit both of the videos I made last week for the same assignment grade, which was really nice of her and will hopefully give me a higher score. You want know what was even more nice and super-human awesome of her?

I sent her an email on Wednesday morning basically begging and pleading her for a letter of recommendation to this certain animation studio. I had met the required amount of letters for this specific studio, but someone dropped out at the last minute and I had to find someone to replace him fast...or I wouldn't even be considered for the dream internship I wanted. The big issue was that the letter had to be from school faculty, not friends or clients or anyone else.

I sent my email at 6:50am on Wednesday, telling her the letter was DUE in Connecticut by Friday, and that I would be at work all day and unreachable. Not only did she respond incredibly fast, but she had the letter typed, sealed, and in the mail by 10am. How cool is that?! She deserves a medal for being the Most Awesome Professor Ever. Needless to say, I gave her the highest possible ratings on her quarterly teacher eval. sheet we filled out later that day.

As you know, last Monday was my birthday. It came and passed without incident, thankfully, and I feel alright with being 22 now. As far as presents, I got money from my grandparents, 6 weeks of Tae Kwon Doe lessons, a 3DS game, 3DS accessories, and a MASSIVE wad of cash from my dad. Enough to buy a whooooolle lot of computer junk (which of course I did! Savings be damned!)

We went to go see Rio at the Studio Movie Grill and otherwise had a pretty relaxed day. My birthday fell on a Monday, a day on which I do not have class at UTD, and I made sure to ask off at work, so it was really ideal for going to the movies since most of the rest of Dallas was otherwise occupied. I really loved Rio, too. It was simply gorgeous to watch and probably the best work yet out of the studio that produced it (which is coincidentally the same studio to which I was applying last week.)

I also spent a lot of last week working on some school projects that aren't *quite* ready to be shown in public yet, but I can assure you are pretty much the coolest things ever.

Although I had school and three days of work, I also went with my family on a day-long Earth Day adventure on Friday! We started off at the Heard Museum in the morning for our continuing series of Nature Challenges.

(Those last 3 were my mom's)

After that we went to the Twisted Root burger joint to meet friends and grab some amazing burgers.

And finally we went to the Dallas Zoo for Frog Club! It was a lot of fun!

And today of course is Easter! A very excited Libby woke me up at 7am telling me it was almost time to go hunting for eggs. Mom kicked it up a notch this year by buying camouflaged Wonka eggs!
